No end to the staggering violence that has taken life, almost daily since the beginning June. Yesterday and today, the trend of violence and murder, that has shattered lives, and kept detectives, and resources spread thin, has taken three more lives.
On 06/13/2011, two people lost their lives, one because of being shot, another because of a fleeing driver, running from the Sheriffs Department--the victim an innocent driver struck by the fleeing car.
Today another victim lost their life, after being shot in the head by person known to the victim.
Noon Time Murder On Waterloo Road

Around 1200 hours yesterday a Stockton Police Detective driving on Waterloo Road came upon a male down near Belvadere Street; The Detective went to check the person down, and discovered the person had been shot, and immediately radioed for help. The horrific shooting witnessed by many people in the area. Immediate witness reports to the Officer advised that a lite skinned Hispanic male, wearing shorts, white t shirt, and a shirt wrapped around his head, walked up to the victim and shot him in the head. The suspect then ran down Francis Street, where according to witnesses was picked up by a Ford Taurus, or Buick that was silver in color.
The Victim was not taken to the hospital, and was pronounced dead. Stockton Police sent many Officers to assist the Sheriffs department during the first few minutes of the incident because there was information that the suspect, still armed, was in the area of Belvadere Ave or Francis St; A large perimeter was set up by the Stockton police department, and the responding Sheriffs Deputies were in charge of the search. A brief search was conducted, but eventually called off after several witness's confirmed that the shooter had made it outside of the large perimeter. Most likely the suspect was picked up by the vehicle described in the previous paragraph; additionally there were reports by witnesses that the suspect was dropped of by the same car.
One officer radioed to dispatch "note in the call that it is windy out here, and there are dollar bills blowing down the road", this seemed to suggest that this murder was a possible robbery. This was not however the official view of any agency on the scene. CHP assisted and took over much of Stockton Police Departments assistance to the Sheriffs, at one point, 11 Stockton Police Officers were on scene assisting the S/O. Devastated family members of the victim arrived almost immediately after the shooting, and were distraught.

Terminated Pursuit Turns Tragic

Later in the evening around 2100 hours, a San Joaquin County Sheriffs Deputy attempted a traffic Stop on a car, the car immediately failed to yield and a short pursuit ensued. Almost immediately the Deputy terminated the pursuit, and advised over the radio that he was terminating the pursuit. Seconds later however, at the intersection of Franklin and Elm Wood Avenue, the fleeing vehicle struck and innocent woman's car, causing massive damage, and ejecting her from the car. She suffered massive injuries, and died later in the night. The lone deputy immediately gave chase to a subject seen running from the vehicle, after a tense foot pursuit, and the deputy having to use a tasor, the subject was taken into custody.
A Stockton police officer answering the call from the Sheriffs Department request that help be sent to the Officer, arrived at the scene and advised over the radio "... it is a mess out here, there is about 100 people out here,.. keep all our units coming". Shooting Homicide Noble/ Sutter Streets

Today at Noble and Sutter Streets, a known friend who was described as gang member, shot his friend in the head with a rifle. After shooting the victim in the head, Stockton Police Officers arriving on the scene discovered that the victims wounds were fatal. Witnesses told police, the suspect shot the victim and then placed the weapon in a back pack, got on a bike and left the area. Description was a HMA, with long hair, and was a gang member. A call out for detectives was initiated to investigate the latest murder, which has been a daily occurrence for almost everyday of this Month. Grand Jury Report of San Joaquin County Law Enforcement Agencies
Ironically today News 10 - Sacramento reported the that the San Joaquin County Grand Jury Released a report and stated:
"The San Joaquin County Civil Grand Jury concluded the area's law
enforcement agencies are suffering and crime is up as a result in an

The reality of living in the City of Stockton California. A City in crisis, out of control crime, out of control misspending, unemployment, racially diversity, potential for economic growth. No longer the All American City, but recipients of several unsavory titles.
